Virgil

Virgil

Humility and modesty often go hand in hand with human and intellectual greatness.

One example is what writes the immense poet Virgilio in a letter addressed to the Emperor Augusto his Enea, main character of’Eneide, his masterpiece:

On my Enea, for Hercules, if I had composed something worthy of your ears, I'll gladly invierei, but the work is so to the initial state that I think that I devoted to work so demanding, almost with intellectual disability”.

The testimony is the Latin writer McSwain (Photo gives: wikipedia.org).
